Project Details
Cooper Tacia was approached in the spring of 2016 about constructing a taproom and restaurant space for a new brewery concept that business partners Patrick Woodson and the owners of Raleigh’s Bida Manda were planning together. The new brewery was to be called Brewery Bhavana and it was an especially exciting prospect for our President, John Cooper, as Bida Manda was the first restaurant built by our company and he had developed a very close friendship with the brother and sister Owner’s, Vansana Nolintha (Van) and Vanvisa Nolintha. John accompanied Van on many trips as he explored ideas during the design process for the new space.
The skylight was first envisioned after sitting under one at a brunch in New York. The flower shop was inspired by a small one that they visited on the streets of Barcelona. The stone and marble were inspired by the beautiful white marble countertops you can find in pretty much every café in Florence, Paris, or Rome. The chandeliers from Spain, the library inspired by Van’s time attending Trinity College in Dublin… every detail has a story of its own and was given the utmost attention and thought. The very talented folks at Clearscapes were selected as the design firm and the end result is a work of art. We are humbled to be a part of the team and process.
