Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company, founded in 2003, is a full-service general contracting company. We have completed projects throughout the southeast of the United States ranging from large-scale manufacturing, office buildings, government and education facilities, restaurant & retail spaces, apartment complexes, and water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades.

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent with extensive background in ground-up commercial construction projects valued above $20M, and with a strong track record of successfully delivering projects within budget and schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the on-site project executive and primary liaison with owners/architects/engineers for the day-to-day construction activities of the project.
• Proactive approach towards developing solutions to construction field issues. Promptly and effectively communicate with project management team throughout the implementation of solutions.
• Present monthly written reports to the project management team.
• Document jobsite conditions and work progress.
• Read and interpret architectural, civil, and engineering plans and specifications.
• Communicate with appropriate permitting agencies to ensure all necessary permits are acquired and inspections are scheduled.
• Scheduling: Develop 4 week look ahead schedules and ensure all subcontractors adhere to the master project schedule.
• Quality Control: Execute quality control measures throughout the project to minimize rework.
• Budgeting: Track and manage rental equipment, hourly and unit rate work, job trailer supplies, and miscellaneous incidental costs.
• Safety: Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
• Supervise and mentor assistant superintendents.

Requirements:

• Experience completing commercial construction projects valued at $20M+ required.
• 15-20+ years of experience as a commercial construction superintendent.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Proven experience completing projects on schedule and budget.
• Strong computer skills and proficient in construction software.
• Willing to travel and take remote assignments.
• Understanding of LEAN construction practices and LEED Green Building requirements is highly encouraged.
• OSHA-30 Certification
