Mountain Island Hydro Station Rehabilitation

Civil & Marine

Project Details

Specialized marine and structural rehabilitation work was performed at Duke Energy’s Mountain Island Hydro Station, a critical renewable energy facility serving the North Carolina region. The project focused on improving infrastructure reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

The scope included removal and rehabilitation of existing trash racks to restore effective debris management and intake protection. Structural steel guides were fabricated and installed to enhance system performance and long-term durability. Following completion of the upgrades, unit commissioning was performed to verify proper operation and system integration. The work also included decommissioning of the trashway as part of the broader facility improvement effort.
